Start a rumor and watch it spread. Those glass shards are almost impossible to eradicate…they find places to penetrate and cause all kinds of problems. People are drawn to the shiny pieces of gossip.
Why, then, can’t we spread rumors about the good news? Do it in hushed tones and make it shine…
Because the world doesn’t want to see and hear of God’s love through trials…it just wants the trials. Even I am guilty of downplaying the blessings in the storm.
We ignore the truth and goodness and glorify the fake and negativity…
We like to be the center of attention and get a rush in telling tales…
I’ll tell you a secret: when God is the center of your focus, you see those little “potsherds covered in silver dross” for the dull, lifeless pieces they are and your “wicked heart” wants nothing to do with the wickedness of the world.
