Clarity

Like a camera, we have the ability to zoom-in and focus on things in the distance. We can magnify the object in view and see the little details. We gain clarity in our picture.

We can bring sights close where we can almost reach out and touch them. It seems so close, so large on the screen.

The background blurs as we sharpen the focus…

We lose sight of all the distractions; they become a mash-up, clutter, just unnecessary noise…

We forget our surroundings; we forget everything else but what has our focus.

And if we are not careful, we become consumed…disillusioned…we lose the beauty of the picture and see the imperfections.

Our focus becomes so oriented on the one little aspect that we’ve magnified…that one aspect is all we see…all the blemishes brought into focus.

So caught up are we in that one picture, that we miss the change in lighting…we miss the other breathtaking views looking for that perfect shot…

We miss what’s right in front of us because our focus is elsewhere.

How many times have you missed out on the beauty of the moment because you are too focused on a little detail?

The lighting isn’t always perfect and there will always be a blemish, but take a step back and take it all in.

Life is so beautiful when it is lived, not when it is put into such focus that clarity is lost.

That’s what we do when we focus so hard on one little part; we lose clarity in what is important.

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭(KJV‬‬)
