Friends

A good friend encourages you to be better.

A great friend pushes you over the edge.

My wonderful friend dared me to start writing a blog.

I’m still writing and still enjoying what I learn.

I don’t plan out what I’m going to say; I can’t really do things like that. Everything I post is spur-of-the-moment thoughts.

Scary, isn’t it?

So when I was encouraging my friend to “level up”, she says to me, “you first”.

So I did.

I put myself out there and started writing nonsense.

This whole thing started because I had someone looking to me, watching me, and counting on me. And I am still depending on her to keep pushing me. And she still does. It’s a beautiful relationship where neither of us cuts the other slack; we hold each other accountable and push each other to keep going.

Shortly after I started writing, my best friend at the time walked out on me when I was at my lowest point; it was the best thing she could’ve done. I never saw it coming, but I’m thankful for her and for her leaving as she did.

My friend who pushed me to write, she’s still here and a better friend than I deserve.

My friends who put up with me rambling about all this nonsense and offering unsolicited advice, they are amazing and wonderful people.

I’ve learned some people come for a minute and others stay for a while but each one has a special purpose in life.

That’s the beauty of friendship.

Girl, “level up”. It’s your turn to find your peace.

And peace is found when you stop looking for it, because that’s when you realize that peace is in the quiet, it’s in the stillness, it’s when you stop trying to get gain and just be.

Thank you for being such a great friend.
