Impossible

“Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.” 1 Kings 8:61 (KJV)

This seems like an impossible task.

And it is…but it is only impossible because we are mortals and prone to sin.

Well, that and the fact that we don’t keep things simple. We complicate everything. Life is really simple when we live in the moment. By that I mean live each moment with purpose.

In all things, your purpose is to give God glory. Even I am guilty of saying that I’m here for my kids, they’re my reasons for being here…but they’re not. I mean I’m sure that they are part of my purpose, I hope they live as I hope to live in glorifying the Lord, but I’m here because God’s plan for me is right here, right now.

Our ego keeps us from living our purpose. Because we’re so focused on me, myself and I, that we miss the point that God is the focus of all things.  Everything revolves around Him. If not for the Lord, there is nothing, so how can He not be the center of all things?

We don’t live for work, our kids, or the next big thing…we live for God. We live making our decisions based on what takes the glory away from us and puts it on the One who created us. When we do that, keeping His commandments isn’t that difficult.
