Sufficient

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.” 2 Corinthians 3:5 (KJV)

When we lay aside the things we think and focus on the things that the Lord says, we can find comfort.

Daily we face trials and temptations and we often think we are alone in all this. 

But we are not. 

Even if you don’t know my struggle and I don’t know your story, the Lord does. He is right there with us in our struggles. 

And throughout the Bible, there are countless ways shown how those people lived the same trials we live. And those people give us hope. 

Hope because the Lord is sufficient. His power and grace are enough to cover all our failings. 

Hope because His love and direction guide us through every trial. 

Not that we can get through this on our own, but that God will bring us through this. When we turn over all our decisions to the Lord, when we rely on Him, we will find that comfort and rest that He gives to all His children. 

We must be as children: dependent on our Father. Then we are humble of ourselves and sure in the Lord.

Our sufficiency is in our God.
