It’s hard to face our fears.
It’s hard to stand up when we’re under scrutiny.
But sometimes, you just need to face it.
When Saul was on the road to Damascus, he saw a bright light. I’m sure he tried to turn away from it, but he was blinded. The men with him heard a noise, but the voice was for Saul.
He had to face it.
More than that, he had to face what he was doing. He had to face the sins he committed against the Lord. Saul had to face the fact that he was one who condemned and stoned Stephen among countless other followers of Christ.
Saul had built his life hunting Christians and punishing them for their beliefs. He was esteemed in his circle, a name feared by many. He had great power bestowed upon him by the high priest to go and come at will.
But on that day, Saul had to face it. He didn’t have a choice.
He was instructed to face the Apostles, the people he previously persecuted.
Mortal enemies had to face each other.
And only by and through the grace of God could the outcome be good.
Saul was destroyed on the road that day and one of the most prominent preachers took his place. Paul was born out of darkness, literal blindness. The Lord took his sight to give him eyes to see.
Sometimes we are so blinded by our focus that we don’t see what’s right in front of us. We are hardheaded and it takes something so drastic to get our attention. We have to lose our sight to be able to see.
God is with us in the difficult situations. He is that bright light that opens our eyes so we can see HIS glory.
When you doubt your life, your purpose, remember what happens when you face it: your pride and arrogance, the way you live like this is your life and not in service of the Lord.
Look what happens when you face your decisions and instead of following your own thoughts and wishes, you start listening to that still small voice that says, ‘why persecuteth thou me?’…
…blessings.
Face it, our purpose is His praise.
