“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.” 2 Corinthians 3:5 (KJV)
When we lay aside the things we think and focus on the things that the Lord says, we can find comfort.
Our thoughts are often vain imaginations. We give ourselves far too much credit for what happens.
Daily we face trials and temptations and we often think we are alone in all this. But we are not.
Even if you don’t know my struggle and I don’t know your story, the Lord does.
And throughout the Bible, there are countless ways shown how those people lived the same trials we live.
And those people give us hope…
Not that we can get through this, but that God will bring us through this.
When we turn over all our decisions to the Lord, when we rely on Him, we will find that comfort and rest that He gives to all His children.
We must be as children: dependent on our Father. Then we are humble of ourselves and sure in the Lord.
The Lord is the only surety in this world.
He is sufficient.
Trusting in the Lord and His perfect will isn’t always easy. However, it is the only way.
His will is the only way.
