“Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.” Jeremiah 2:32 KJV
Maybe I’m the only one, but I don’t think I could forget my wedding day. There are always little things that stick out in your mind on a day like that.
Whether it was a good memory, or one that now brings pain, your wedding day is generally a day you won’t forget.
I’m not going to get this right, but this verse struck me because when we are espoused, we are giddy and anxiously awaiting that next time we see our beloved.
That is the feeling we should have for the LORD. HE is our beloved. HE is the center of everything and we should always be watching and waiting for HIM.
The Lord is never apart from us. We can’t always see Him, but He always sees us.
How do we forget our God?
We don’t forget our phones, our keys, our jewelry…
We don’t forget our wedding day, or parts of it…
The Lord set up His church as His Bride, the one who is walking towards her Groom. He is waiting on His Bride to come to His Side on the right hand of the Father. HE has paid the price for His Bride. His Church is bought with the Blood He spilled on the cross.
Think for a moment about how undeserving we are that this man sacrificed His life so we can have ours.
Every single day we should be thankful for every single day.
Every single day we should arise early and remember and praise the One who put His life on the line.
How can we forget the One who created the Heavens and the Earth?
How can we forget the One who causes us to breathe?
How can we forget?
