“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;” Ephesians 4:4 (KJV)
“Your calling”… we each have our gift that contributes to the one body of the Bride of Christ. Some are given the gift of prophecy, others the gift of service…some people can speak in tongues, while others are teachers.
No one calling is better than the other. And just as each member of the natural body (feet, hands, head…) has a purpose, so does each individual of the Spiritual Body. Each is needful. Each person has a unique gift to be used for God’s purpose and together, the Body serves the Lord.
The body is composed of different people, from all sorts of backgrounds…they have a common Spirit and hope for their eternal reward.
What greater goal than to have everlasting life worshiping God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost? And what more can we hope for than to honor our calling and partake in the one body of the Bride of Christ?
