Thoughts on Sin

“Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, And hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.” Psalm‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Why do we fight with sin? Why do we try to bury it? Or cover up our transgressions? Do we not realize that by doing this we are actually planting seeds and giving sin a place to grow? If we fight with sin, are we not acknowledging its place and giving it room?

The Lord condemned sin. He stopped it. He didn’t argue with sin, or cover it. He spoke and that was it. We allow sin to have power when all we need to do is call on our Father to move it. And have faith that He will and does move it. We can’t think of the temptation without allowing it to take root and grow.

God is the way to overcome sin and temptation. The devil says “ The Lord I know and Jesus I know,” and the devil is afraid of God. Not a reverent fear but a knowledge that God has not only taken life but also power. The Lord had cast the devil into Hell where he cannot find relief and He will again. For two thousand years, Satan was locked away in the pit where he could not go where he wanted. The devil knows his limits and he knows the Lord God is without limit. He knows that God is the final say.

Thank you Lord for your forgiveness and strength. Thank you for mercy and grace. Blessed are you Lord. Holy is your name.
